Done well they can empower, support, encourage and result in change.
Done badly then can lead to dis-engagement, charged emotions, misunderstandings and much worse.
Developing the understanding and skills to have these conversations is difficult and more often than not role play is used.
Even writing the words 'role play' makes me cringe. And I can't be the only one...
The Crucial Conversations pack is an alternative option to role play. It uses a variety of character cards to help people explore the differences in approach and impact in a safe way
(If you're a huge fan of role play then you can use the character cards as prompts to get people into character)
