Whether you call them 'difficult', 'challenging' or 'crucial' conversations, they are so important to get right.
Done well they can empower, support, encourage and result in change.
Done badly then can lead to dis-engagement, charged emotions, misunderstandings and much worse.
Developing the understanding and skills to have these conversations is difficult and more often than not role play is used.
Even writing the words 'role play' makes me cringe. And I can't be the only one...
The Crucial Conversations pack is an alternative option to role play. It uses a variety of character cards to help people explore the differences in approach and impact in a safe way
(If you're a huge fan of role play then you can use the character cards as prompts to get people into character)
The Crucial Conversations pack contains;
- Character card pack (16 characters plus make your own option) - print at home
- Scenario card deck (72 different scenarios managers may face with their team members) - print at home
- 4 x fully spec'd out activity workshops - each with slides, timings & equipment lists
- The Playbook - a facilitators guide to the cards and activities plus multiple variations on each activity if you want to do something different.
Once you have the Character Card deck you're free to use these in any other workshops you dream up too.

Imagine If Limited Toybox - product license
I want to make it as easy as possible for you to buy and use the products in the Toybox. The aim is that they make your life easier and more enjoyable, rather than creating a load of rules for you to follow.
That being said, some people like rules, so here’s a few I’d ask you to consider.
As a purchaser of this product you can use it in your own work and the work you do for clients.
You can use the slides as they are (with Imagine If branding) or you can use them with your own or your clients branding. If doing the latter then please include a footnote to state the originator of the documents as you would for other models, tools and quotes that you use.
